There are many ways your business can help King Street Center in our efforts to help children thrive and strengthen families. The main routes to help out are:
- Gifts of cash
There is no easier way to give! Some employers also match charitable gifts, meaning your gift will be worth even more.
- Gifts of time
There are many ways for you and your employees to get involved, ranging from one-time events (spring cleaning, painting, etc.) to year-long commitments (mentor a child or join our board).
- Gifts in-kind
King Street has benefited from dozens of area businesses who have donated products, equipment, and labor. These gifts are tax-deductable, just like cash, and can make a huge difference.
- Host a company fun-raiser
Many companies offer events and activities for their employees throughout the year. Why not create an event that benefits King Street? How much would your employees pay to see you shave your head? Or get an extra vacation day? Or play in a bowling tournament? The sky is the limit on creative ways that you can raise fun, funds and awareness about King Street Center and our programs.
Sponsor an event
As a corporate sponsor, your business will receive customized benefits designed to complement your strategic marketing objectives and appropriate to your philanthropic priorities. Benefits associated with sponsorship of our events include:
- Recognition at the event, and in promotional materials related to the event
- Tickets to our events, or registration for teams at our golf tournament
- Your logo on event programs
- Your banner and/or promotional materials proudly displayed for all to see
- Recognition in our newsletter, which reaches over 5,000 individuals and businesses
- Links from the King Street website
- Word of mouth recognition through our connections and event participants
- The knowledge that your organization is helping children and families thrive!
Event sponsorship at King Street includes:
Encore!, our annual cabaret-style musical, features the talents of Tim Barden, Joyce Flanagan, Stephen Rainville, Cathy Walsh, Denise Whittier, and musical director Dr. Bill Reed (Late Winter).
The King Street Talent Extravaganza, which pairs local entertainers of all kinds with King Street youth for an afternoon of song, dance, and storytelling (Early Spring).
The King Street – Bob Aldrich Memorial Golf Tournament, which brings together over 100 civic and business leaders for 18 holes of golf at one of the state’s premier private courses (August).
Is there something you or your customers are especially passionate about? Show your support for your pet project by sponsoring a specific program at King Street. The opportunities for program sponsorship are endless, but there are a few high-impact opportunities that really stand out:
- Kids’ Lemonade
Kids Lemonade is our highly-regarded job training program for at-risk youth. Kids 11 and up learn what it takes to enter the world of work by running their own food service business on the Church Street Marketplace during the busy summer months. As a Kids’ Lemonade sponsor, your company’s logo will appear on the stand and be seen by thousands of locals and tourists every day. We can even reserve space on the stand to distribute your company’s brochure or coupon.
- Summer Camp
King Street’s day camps help keep young minds and bodies active long after the final school bell of summer rings, and provide parents with the child care they need to stay in the workforce. We would be proud to display your company’s banner in the front of our building and include your logo on our summer camp T-shirts.
- Kids on the Ball
Kids on the Ball is our nationally recognized, year-round tennis program for at-risk youth. We are always looking for donations of refreshments, shoes, and equipment for this award-winning program.
- The Big Red Bus
“Clifford,” our 18-passenger bus, can be a mobile billboard for your business as it navigates the streets of Chittenden County. In addition to shuttling our own children around town, many area organizations hire Clifford for their own transportation needs.
- The Roxane Leopold Scholarship Fund
Sponsor a student’s dream of going to college through a gift to the Roxane Leopold Scholarship Fund. In a state where public college tuitions are 57% higher than the national average, even a small scholarship can make a huge difference in the life of a young person.
