Preschool (Ages 3-5)

The King Street Preschool Program is a strong example of the positive effect of prevention programs. We understand that healthy intervention in a young child's life will have tremendous rewards in later years. A child who is academically and socially ready for kindergarten will experience the first of many levels of success. This foundation of success is what develops strong and positive self-esteem in children. Simply stated, the definition of self-esteem is, "I am lovable. I am capable." Our early education programs launch children who feel that they are lovable and capable.

Our preschool is a full-day program for 15 children aged three to five. Hours of care are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

As a Head Start Partner Center, we give preference to children who are Head Start eligible.  Head Start is a national program that provides children with educational opportunities that prepare them for kindergarten. Head Start provides comprehensive, family-centered services for parents and children, with resources and referrals in the areas of health, nutrition and other social services.

Our goal is ultimately to support children in developing a positive self-image. We want children to be aware of their strengths and what they can count on about themselves and each other.
