Front Desk Receptionist
Position Overview
The Front Desk Receptionist plays a key role in front desk operations and supporting the smooth functioning of youth, families, staff and visitor building access. This position requires the ability to remain vigilant and follow building safety and security procedures effectively, while also fostering a welcoming and warm environment that aligns with King Street Center’s values. This position also requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various staff and community members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Stationed at the front desk and interacts with visitors, vendors, and general public in person and by telephone; answers questions and program inquiries
Monitors the door to admit youth, families, and visitors in the building daily
Assist programs and visitors to check-in and out as they enter and exit the building
Identifies and escalates appropriately to other staff, situations requiring additional support
Manages tracking system for signing in and out for youth and volunteers
Maintains awareness of activities within building and situations developing with children or staff; have knowledge of whereabouts of staff and children
Hand out meal bags for families 2-3 times / week at the end of the day
Tracks usage of office and program supplies and places supply orders as needed
Occasional special event support, including internal events, community-based, and development-focused events
Provides a variety of administrative support services to agency staff, and acts as resource hub regarding the functioning of the agency and technical support
Manages KSC database, ensuring accurate and timely entry, updates, and maintenance of records for all kids, volunteers and staff
Assist programs as needed in coordination and operations of programming
Supports programs in youth check-in and check out
Other Responsibilities
Serve as backup to meal coordinator, operations manager, facilities director if/when needed
Duties as otherwise assigned, may include seasonal happenings such as mailings

Work Requirements
Must be 18 years or older.
Some experience working with youth or administrative support preferred, either in a personal or professional setting.
Must pass a criminal background check through the VT Child Care Development Division
Must have a valid driver's license and pass a motor vehicle report
Computer knowledge for use of workplace laptop to run reports
Must have good time management and organizational skills
Must be comfortable working in a youth setting, with children across various ages.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting
Mobility within the workplace with daily lifting or carrying of packages and other supplies
Must be able to lift 30 pounds
Will need valid driver's license
Some writing, typing, emailing and data entry (more than 50% of time)
Frequently noisy environment with children, family, staff and visitor interactions
Relationships & Roles
Officially reports to Operations Manager
Interacts with other KSC leadership, staff, visiting educators, community service providers, transportation providers, special educators, volunteers and visitors
Employment Details
Compensation: $20-$22 per hour
Location: 100% on site (seated at front desk)
Hours: Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week between the hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm with a 30 minute paid lunch break, year-round. (typical shift hours will be 10am-6pm)
Status: Non-exempt, Hourly
